Contests & Events

One of the main missions of the DSO's Education Department is to encourage young musicians and music lovers in the area in any way that we can. With that in mind, we offer a variety of contests, competitions, and other exciting events throughout the year. Check this page often to see what's new!

The Teen ticket challenge

The DSO Teen Council has developed a fun and inexpensive way for teens in North Texas to come to concerts, meet world-famous artists, and even score a DSO ensemble performance at their school! Check out this podcast to find out more: DSO Teen Ticket Challenge. Or you can call Katie Sejba at 214-871-4092.

Practice Challenge

North Texas Young Composers Project

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has joined forces with the professional contemporary music ensemble Voices of Change to identify and encourage exceptionally talented young composers in North Texas. Selected composers receive cash prizes, a chance to work with the artistic leadership of the project in the preparation of their music for performance, and a professional performance of one of their works.
