MAHLER: SYMPHONY NO. 1

Music Director Jaap van Zweden leads the second week of the Texas Instruments Classical Series with the world premiere of Christopher Theofanidis' Cello Concerto with acclaimed cellist Nina Kotova in her Texas Instruments Classical Series debut. The evening concludes with the first symphony written by one of classical music's iconic composers: Gustav Mahler. His Symphony No. 1 evokes nature in the form of a tone poem, and sets the stage for his following ten symphonies.
