2010 Parks Concert Series - Pedro Infante Sinfónico - An Evening with Jubilant Sykes

DALLAS, TX - The Dallas Symphony Orchestra today announces the 2010 Community Concert Series, scheduled to begin Sunday, April 4, 2010 with the beloved annual Easter Concert at Lee Park. The 2010 Community Concert Series includes the annual Parks Concert Series, Pedro Infante Sinfónico, A Tribute to the Music from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, sponsored by Metro PCS, and An Evening with Jubilant Sykes with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The Parks Concert Series is free to the public, and tickets for both Pedro Infante Sinfónico and An Evening with Jubilant Sykes go on sale April 2, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.

The 2010 annual Parks Concert Series features six concerts at various parks and locations around the Dallas community spanning from April 4, 2010 to June 9, 2010. Dallas Symphony Orchestra Associate Conductor Rei Hotoda will lead the DSO in a wide variety of classical favorites for the residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and the best part is that all concerts are completely free to the public.

Pedro Infante Sinfónico, A Tribute to the Music from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, will take place June 4, 2010 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and is sponsored by Metro PCS. Featuring Gordon Campbell as conductor, José Manuel Chu as tenor soloist and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, this exciting evening will feature some of Mexico's most beloved film music made famous by screen icon Pedro Infante. Scenes from Infante's movies will be projected on the big screen as Chu evokes the signature style of Mexico's idol of cinema past.

June 4, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Single tickets range from $20 to $65.

An Evening with Jubilant Sykes features the world-renowned, classically trained baritone performing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on June 18, 2010. Sykes has won the attention and respect of the world's finest music establishments including the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera, Philadelphia Orchestra and hundreds of other major venues around the world. Sykes will perform some of the most beloved African spirituals along with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

June 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Single tickets range from $20 to $40.
