THE DALLAS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS VIDEO GAMES LIVE
JUNE 11 & 12, 2010
Electrifying Concert Returns to Dallas for Two Nights
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra today announces the return of the hit multi-media concert Video Games Live, coming to Dallas for two electrifying nights this summer: June 11 and 12, 2010 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. After two sold-out performances in June of 2007, Video Games Live returns to create a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience featuring the music of the biggest and most recognizable video games of all time, complete with exclusive video footage and music arrangements, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussion, interactive segments and more. Tickets go on sale March 26, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
From the "bleeps" and "bloops" of nostalgic classics such as Frogger and Tetris, to the unmistakable sounds of Mario™, Zelda® and Donkey Kong®, and the power of recent blockbusters like Halo®, Final Fantasy®, Warcraft®, Myst® and Metal Gear Solid®, Video Games Live promises to be a full concert experience gamers and non-gamers will not want to miss. Set in the spectacular Eugene McDermott Concert Hall of the Meyerson Symphony Center, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and members of the Dallas Symphony Chorus will recreate the intensity and thrill of the gaming world's most powerful compositions.
Video Games Live quickly became the most popular game concert after its debut at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in 2005, with over 11,000 people in attendance. Since then, the concert has been performed in England, Spain, France, Mexico and New Zealand, and was the first American video game concert to ever be performed in Asia. Video Games Live bridges a gap for entertainment by exposing new generations of music lovers and fans to the symphonic orchestral experience, while also providing a unique experience for families and non-gamers. The show combines the power and emotion of a symphony orchestra with the energy of a rock concert and the interactivity of a video game; all completely synchronized with cutting edge video screen visuals, lighting effects and interactive segments with the audience.
Tickets range from $30 to $70. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 214.692.0203 or visit DallasSymphony.com.
