Bing Wang

Bing Wang joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1997. Born in Shang Hai, China, he began his violin studies with this father, professor De-Wen Wang, at age 4. He is the recipient of the 1991 Davidorff Young Musician of the Year award in Germany. Wang has played solo and chamber music performances in the U.S., China, Japan, Portugal, England, Greece, Germany and Mexico. He earned his bachelor's degree in music from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, with Dorothy DeLay and Kurt Sassmannshaus, and his master's degree from the University of Southern California with Alice Schoenfeld. Wang also studied at Indiana University with Henryk Kowalski. He and his wife Xiaohua Sheng have one son and one daughter, David and Catherine.
