Scott Walzel joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1992.
Before moving to Dallas, he was a member of the San Antonio
Symphony from 1988-1992. Scott earned a bachelor's in music
education from the University of Houston and a master's in music
performance from the University of Southern California. His
teachers include Norman Herzberg, Benjamin Kamins and Paul Tucci.
Scott maintains a private studio and is very active throughout
Texas and the Metroplex as a solo and chamber musician. He has
participated in many summer festivals, including the Bravo Vail
Valley Music Festival, Music in the Mountains Festival, Central
City Opera Festival, Sun River Music Festival, Spoleto Festival and
the Aspen Music Festival. Scott and his wife, Simone, stay very
busy raising their two boys, Benjamin and Alexander.
